I am participating in #Trust30, an online initiative and 30-day writing challenge that encourages you to look within and trust yourself.
Prompt #1:
You just discovered you have fifteen minutes to live.
1. Set a timer for fifteen minutes.
2. Write the story that has to be written.
(Prompt by Gwen Bell)
We are afraid of truth, afraid of fortune, afraid of death, and afraid of each other. Our age yields no great and perfect persons. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
With fifteen minutes left to live, you will excuse any typos or improper grammar. I have a few things to say, to leave with you, to touch you. to be with you one last time.
With 15 minutes to live, what do I care about?
Thanks for making me laugh, smile and love.
Thanks for helping me expand and experience new possibilities.
Your disagreements with me were as fruitful, and as inspiring as your love. Disagreements are a form of love, yes? To disagree, you must love you and me enough to care enough to recognize what is similar and different between us. The act of disagreeing acknowledges our connection.
What needs to be said in fifteen minutes? Nothing really. All that I have needed to say, I have said up to now.
Fifteen minutes to live.
What else is there, but thank you.
I love the mistakes we made together the most.
I love where we got lost and made new discoveries together.
I feel blessed by every moment you really pissed me off.
And those times you embodied others to remind me to surrender to what is really possible.
Shit, all this in only 5 minutes! Ten more minutes to live.
Did I spend my time up to now well?
I did. Ok sure, there were plenty of times in which I was lazy, self obsessed, selfish in doubt, but possibility most always had my ear. She could always re-enlist my love, passion and conviction.
Possibility is my muse.
Who is yours?
Who is your muse-who lifts your head, kicks your butt and soothes your heart? What grand curiosity or need drives you to be an alchemist of heaven and earth so that you can create something completely new and alive?
Who beckons the real you and gobbles up fear as easily as she exudes love?
Are you listening to her?
When you listen to your friends, or the stranger in the grocery store line, do you listen for and connect with that indelible spark in their heart that is revealed in their eye?
This is what needs to be said.
Please, please relate to the spark within you and all others. The spark of possibilities, connections, knowing and eternal mischief.
Connect the creative sparks within and among us.
Damn! Why would you ever waste time talking about the weather?
Muah! I love you.
