What’s Your Rallying Cry?

by Judy on August 2, 2010

“Live like your Life is depending on you.”

This was my first conscious thought this morning. Note that this is life with a BIG L meaning that my soul is especially counting on me right now, not a little “l” physical life.

I’m not asking WHY I woke up with this thought, I’m simply going with it!  I imagine that many of us are hearing this call today, this week, and this month.

So I had to smile when I read a note from the Rev Angela Peregoff saying “sound your soulful rallying cry every day for the next week and probably beyond.”

This prompted me to think, “hmmmm, what is my rallying cry?”

I had three quick responses jump into my mind.

lionFirst, the mountain lion represents my sovereign self.  I have this photo on my computer desktop and I often play the roar of a mountain lion when I need to access my courage in pursuit of my vision.  This sound stirs my heart life few others -> ROAR .

Secondly, I love to howl like a wolf (there goes THAT semi-secret!). I realized this morning that while my wildcat is purely about me, howling is about rallying my pack or tribe.  My soul-body wants to stay connected.  By howling, I’m alerting my tribe that I am ok, and I want to hear status updates from the pack. HOWL

Thirdly, I love music.  I love to sing and dance and I always have songs that represent certain things to me.   I’ve often thought that I could be the soundtrack engineer for a movie, or the person who comes up with the songs for baseball players when they come up to bat.  My favorite song to sing at the top of my lungs is Beautiful Day by U2.  SING

Sound is SUCH a pure expression of energy.  Talk about presence!  Forget talking politely about what matters to you,

Get up and roar, stomp your feet or sing at the top of your lungs. Let the world know that you are here, alive, well and creating the world you desire!

This 90 second video has the vibe I’m talking about.  DARE

How about you, what is your rallying cry?

What sound or slogan sends a resounding note to yourself and to the world that you are here, aligned, focused, and clearing your own path?  (Here’s one link to explore)

And, what song puts you out front and center in your own life like no other?
